What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

I’ve spent many years healing childhood trauma and in the process, I’ve learned so much about trauma and how it impacts our development. I incorporate trauma-informed tools into my coaching in order to better serve lawyers. I’ve also worked with productivity teachers who have studied the neuroscience of our brains and our hormones, and I utilize that information in the materials I teach around productivity and stress management. Finally, I’ve spent a number of years healing my race-based trauma and am able to hold space for White people to acknowledge and heal their internalized racism in order to take anti-racist actions.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

The support of my friends and family, as well as addressing my childhood and race-based trauma, have been crucial to my success as a coach. When I began the journey of healing childhood trauma, the first few years were excruciatingly painful. Were it not for my friends and family who supported me, the outcome of my life would have been very different.

Addressing and healing trauma have also been crucial to my success as the healing has liberated me from the many lies I believed about myself due to childhood trauma, as well as the many lies I was taught under White supremacy.

The biggest highlight in my career as a coach is to certify at Experience Academy as Horse Assisted Coach. The horse is a powerful metaphor that highlights who we really are; it is like a mirror that reflects the messages we indirectly give it through our posture, our gaze or our gestures. This particular and innovative coaching method helps individuals to achieve their personal and professional goals, instilling confidence and developing each individual’s excellence. Results and change come extremely fast, and are long-lasting thanks to the experiential coaching approach.

The work that I do with clients is built upon neuroscience principles, performance psychology, and cognitive behavioral theory.  This customized approach supports individuals in building mental fitness, emotional intelligence, and mindful leadership. Business leaders enhance their overall ability to build strong relationships and develop powerful influence upward and laterally across the organization, as well as within the team members they lead.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

Since the beginning of my career, I have worked with a relentless curiosity to fully understand what makes employees thrive at work.  Armed with two decades of proven practical experience and academic credentials earned along the way, my work centers on guiding executives on how to best equip and empower their people as the key to business success, forging a path where both profits and people flourish. It just so happens that this work is deeply connected to my purpose here on this earth. What a happy coincidence! 😉

Kate Jackson

I am passionate about this work. The seedlings of my business began prior to 2009, before I knew there was such a thing as health and well-being coaching. Previous to that year, I had spent most of my adult life working in small, dynamic start-up environments, thriving on chaos and variety. It was exciting and challenging.
