She recently returned from walking 500 miles across North Central Spain on the Camino de Santiago. There, she had the opportunity to practice unconditional self-love, self-reliance and to uncover her true, authentic self. Joy is highly empathic, intuitive and compassionate and ready to serve and support you in your recovery.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

I facilitate an energy healing technique called B.E.S.T. (Bio-Energetic Synchronization Technique).

B.E.S.T. is a gentle touch healing technique which updates old traumatic patterns of high intensity stimulus events, or long duration worry, shame, guilt, anger and belief patterns.

B.E.S.T. is used to address interference in the systems of your body which cause it to be out of balance. Removing this interference allows the energy to flow as it is meant to and reestablishes the full healing potential of the body.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

The single most important thing that has contributed to my success as a coach is my curiosity and interest to learn, my desire to connect and serve and my dedication to support people in reconnecting with their true authentic selves.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

I believe in instant and long lasting results. I don’t like conventional therapies that take years to make a slight change in patients. Instead, I dig deeper through hypnotherapy and my de-addiction coaching to find out the root cause of that pattern and provide a quick and ever lasting solution by reprogramming their subconscious mind. My mantra is… Once healed, forever healed.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

The single most important thing that has contributed to my success as a coach is my never give up attitude. Being a single mother, I’ve gone through a lot in my life… but I never gave up… not even with my addict and psychotic ex husband until he became a threat to my and my children’s lives. I’ve closely observed the pattern of an addict. That’s why I dig deeper through my coaching to find out the root cause of the escape mechanism that their mind uses in the form of addiction. Then I take out that pain or fear stored in their subconscious and replace that with self-love and self-esteem through hypnotherapy.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

I use three curated strategies over 8 weeks to help my clients identify the roles they have played since childhood that no longer serve them, the unconscious unhealthy drivers they have developed over time to meet their basic needs, and how to identify who they truly are underneath the fractured version of themselves that emerged in order to protect themselves.  This process helps them break free from old, outdated programming and develop new more empowering beliefs about themselves.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

I spent hundreds of hours over 15 years in 12 step recovery sponsoring and mentoring men. In my mind I was simply being of service to the addict still suffering. What I didn’t realize is that I was developing and cultivating a skill set that was inherently my gift. When I got certified as an NLP Practitioner all the pieces came together for me and I was able to combine my years in recovery with the skill sets of NLP, Neuro Linguistic Programming.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

I live by three principles which are the foundations to my coaching. They are: unconditional positive regard, empathy and genuine openness. By creating a safe, non-judgmental environment, we begin to interpret your thoughts and behaviors using a talk therapy approach. After achieving some solid clean time, I decided to pursue my passion and put my life experience to use. I am a Certified Counseling Practitioner from The Academy of Modern Applied Psychology and trained as a Life Coach through Achology.

I specialize in CBT/NLP techniques and combine that with mutual trust, we can reach their desired goals.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

The single most important thing is having gone through the process of addiction and recovery which has allowed me to really understand what my clients have gone through. This allowed me to connect with my clients on another level which helps them to be vulnerable. The key is to be honest, willing and open minded and with that anything is possible.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

Our holistic addiction recovery program is by far the best recovery program in the country. We take an extremely deep, holistic approach which includes brain chemistry supplementation, emotional regulation techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy, aromatherapy, music therapy, exercise, healthy eating skills and so much more. We empower our clients, so that once they’re in full recovery they will never need us again, all they have to do is follow the rituals and tools we give them and they are clean for life.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

My own recovery from multiple addictions has been probably one of the greatest eye-opener, and one of the best benefits I could ever have imagined coming from my struggle of 30 years in the world of addiction.

The second most important tip that has led to our success, is understanding that most addiction recovery programs are based on philosophies 70 years old! Our program is updated every day.

Pamela Devenport

Pamela’s youth resembled a movie script – living in Mexico, France and being kidnapped at age 20. To survive the trauma, Pamela started drinking.

She hit “rock-bottom” at age 35. In 2009 she quit drinking through 12-step recovery – but sobriety felt lack-luster. After 5 years sober, she drank again, beginning a 2-year relapse.

The Top Addiction Coaches addiction coach

Getting sober again in 2017, Pamela knew “just sobriety” wouldn’t be enough. Becoming a Recovery Coach, she founded My Badass Recovery as a new way of approaching recovery.

Today, Pamela teaches the mindset that transformed her life beyond sobriety into the true freedom of recovery: empowered, grateful, and full of badass sass.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

I teach recovery from addiction from the inside-out. This means I have been where my clients are, and understand the physical, mental and emotional rollercoaster of addiction (to any degree). Having been in the darkest places of this journey allows me to connect empathetically with my clients. I work on identifying the “blocks” that stand on the path of recovery. I address stigma and shame as the biggest obstacles to recovery. I offer sobriety as a path of transformation and freedom, instead of one of lack and shame. I provide tools for my clients and students to find a personal, sustainable and ever-growing path to freedom through recovery.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

The single most important thing that makes me successful as a coach is my own personal journey through addiction. It is because I’ve been on this journey for 12 years that I understand the internal narratives that fuel the behavior of a person with a toxic behavior or addiction. I teach my clients and students with compassion. I believe the way out of stigma and shame is a high dose of information, empowerment and compassion. Through my online courses and mentorship, I provide the tools and mindset for my clients to step into their recovery journey with pride and ownership. The result? A true journey of transformation and freedom.
