What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?
After suffering my own health crisis for which I struggled to find answers, I now teach people about what is happening in their body so they can take control, advocate for themselves and develop the lifelong practices which will enable them to thrive. I use root cause medicine to help people heal for the long term, rather than put a sticking plaster over their symptoms.
What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?
The single most important thing has been developing my practice in nutrition to include functional medicine, as this enables me to help those with complex issues struggling to find answers, finally get their health and wellbeing back.
Mary Dickinson
Mary Dickinson is the owner of Fusion Fitness. She is a North Vancouver born and raised
Holistic Nutritionist and Personal Trainer, with nearly 10 years experience in the fitness and
health industry. Mary helps her clients optimize their health using a holistic framework of
nutritional coaching, lifestyle tune ups, and movement.
Her unrivaled care, influential optimism, and dedication to her clients exudes from the inside out!
What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?
What sets me and my team apart from other businesses? Client care is our number one priority! We always go the extra mile to help someone accomplish their goal. Not just writing them a marathon program, but actually running it with them. Not just writing a meal plan, but teaching them how to create balanced meals.
Fusion Fitness is so much more than just sets, reps and programs. It’s about optimizing clients’ wellbeing and health both in and out of the gym. It’s about enhancing their quality of life. For me, it’s all about the community I created and the relationships I built. There’s a reason why clients stay with Fusion Fitness for many years!
What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?
I have always taken on challenges outside of my comfort zone, which has contributed to my success as a coach. I have done a handful of marathons, ultramarathons, triathlons, and fondos. People are inspired when they see their coach also working towards a goal. When you “walk the walk,” people look up to you. After years of battling with my own health issues, I know what it’s like to live a less than optimal quality of life. This has allowed me to easily put myself in my clients shoes. I understand the emotions, struggles, and frustrations they are facing, which has greatly enhanced my ability to empathize with them and offer support and solutions.
Alan Kenny
Alan Kenny is a performance nutritionist with over 10 years experience supporting athletes and executives to optimise their nutrition. Holding a degree in Exercise Science and a Masters in Sports Nutrition, Alan has also lectured at University level and currently heads a performance lab in an executive medical clinic in Vancouver, Canada.
His work here is focused on optimising heath over a person’s lifespan using modern tools such as blood-work analysis, VO2 and Dexa scans. More recently, Alan has also been involved with the hugely popular fitness app, LEAN with Lilly, acting as the sole nutritionist for the app with hundreds of thousands of users. Alan has worked across the Sports Nutrition industry, having been Head of Science & Education for Glanbia Performance Nutrition across the EMEA region.
What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?
My unique background across exercise, nutrition and healthcare settings allows me to take a very high-level scientific approach using advanced diagnostic tools and screens to assess performance and health at a level not always available to others. I offer personalised nutrition programmes for people that are aligned to their specific individual training and competition demands.
What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?
Having a diverse background with education and a variety of coaching experiences with everyone from young to old and general population to professional athletes has allowed me to approach any individual situation with confidence in my abilities as a coach. Understanding that ultimately we are in a people business also has been a key factor in building trust and authority in this space.
Nicole Guena

Nicole has also received certifications in Hormone Health, Emotional Eating and Detox Your Life. This year she was named one of the top 10 wellness coaches to watch by Yahoo Finance.
What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?
I support women in detoxing every part of their life so they can experience natural and sustainable weight loss, increase energy and clarity, reduce inflammation and much more! In my program, clients learn to decode ingredient labels, analyze the safety of their products, create new habits, manage stress, and prepare easy, delicious meals. We don’t just focus on the actions required to create better health, but also on the limiting beliefs that often hold people back.
What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?
The single most important thing is the Balanced Babe Method. This is my four-step method to achieve health goals without deprivation, frustration or disappointment. This method focuses on rewiring one’s mindset and finding the detox balance that works for them. This allows clients to achieve lasting results AND enjoy all that life has to offer.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?
Nutrition is about being ‘wholistic’ in its approach. We work with clients in bringing about a holistic change not only in their kitchen but also in their lifestyles. For example, weight loss is so much more than calories in and calories out. If someone has elevated stress levels or a malfunctioning gut, even the healthiest foods have no effect on them. Our team works with clients from multiple different aspects for results that are sustainable and healthy.
What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?
The ability to be empathetic towards your client is extremely important. Understanding the emotions behind the words spoken and helping the client see why they have certain aversions or negative associations towards food is very important. As a coach, unless you can help the client build a positive and healthy relationship with food, you are not making an impact.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?
My consultations and my coaching is very interesting and motivating for my clients. They look forward to visiting every time with a lot of zeal and happiness. I pay personal attention to each and everyone with full sincerity and dedication.
I have an extraordinary and very convincing approach, which I consider one of my strengths, to buildup confidence and self-belief in my clients! Clients, who have given up all hopes, also start feeling positive and much at home with my positive and non-judgemental approach
What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?
The single most important thing that has contributed to my success is my positive and energetic attitude and also my never give up policy on anything inspite of any obstacles. Also, I’m extremely passionate about people’s health and counseling people, per their respective psyches, comes naturally to me. I just love what I do and I’m super confident about my skills as far as people’s Fitness is concerned. All these factors continuously contribute to my success.
Judy Butler

She had worked alongside board-certified medical practitioners and helped patients who seek alternative health and therapy to their digestive complaints, cardiovascular, metabolic, and autoimmune disorders.
Being able to help her clients is what keeps her going. She is also the creator of the blog, The Nutrition Junkie.
What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?
The root of my passion for wellness is really the passion for serving others. Instead of dictating a diet regime to follow, I co-create health goals for my clients that are realistic and sustainable. By helping them understand how to bring a balance through a system that allows natural healing to take place, I work to strategize the best plan which will help them to reclaim the life they want to live.
Nicole Guena
Nicole Guena is an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach certified by the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. She helps women detox their bodies and reclaim their health. What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?
I work on creating a personalized program for my clients to limit toxin exposure. By helping them to learn which foods promote detox and which foods are toxic, they come to determine the balance that’s right for them. Along with providing access to my Toxic Ingredients List, Detox Grocery Favorites, Clean Products List and Detox Recipe Book, I also ensure that my clients can reach me through text and email should questions arise in between sessions.
Kaylee Bennett
Kaylee Bennett is an online and in-person fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle coach operating out of Calgary, Canada. After working as a trainer since 2006, Kaylee transitioned her in-person business to the online world of coaching two years ago. She has since developed a system whereby she can deliver exceptional value and service to each person, but also focus on driving results in the broader definition of health, outside of just fitness and the gym. She loves working with clients of all ages and throughout all stages of life, but especially connects with busy women who have a desire to discover their true potential, and find their inner and outer strength.
What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?
Kaylee brings to her coaching over 15 years of experience in the fitness and health industry, and with that added education and experience in nutrition, blood chemistry, advanced programming and assessment, pre and post natal coaching, and life coaching. Her combination of experience, education, and empathy is what sets her apart from other coaches. She not only makes it her purpose to achieve the results her clients want, but also gives them the tools necessary to make the lifestyle adaptations they need to be successful long term.
The most important thing that makes any health, fitness, and nutrition coach successful is the ability to be flexible with their approach to each client. Adhering to dogmatic principles can damage a client relationship at the expense of true results. Understanding that results look different for each person, and even that definition of result can change and fluctuate regularly and consistently for that one person can make coaching difficult. Utilizing empathy and flexibility is crucial for both coach and client success.
Conclusion
These top nutrition coaches demonstrate that success in health and wellness goes beyond standard routines and diets.
Their innovative and personalized approaches, combined with deep empathy and dedication, show that true transformation is about more than just physical changes.
By learning from their experiences and methods, you can find the inspiration and guidance needed to embark on your own journey towards better health and well-being.
