I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Sonoma State University in Northern California. I then completed my Masters of Science in counseling at the University of North Texas. I completed my Juris Doctorate at Texas Wesleyan School of Law (NKA Texas A&M School of Law).

I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been working in a variety of settings within the counseling field since 2004 and I have been in private practice since 2007. I also practiced law in Olympia, WA from 2013-2015 along with maintaining my counseling practice. I specialized in family law, parent coaching, and acting as a guardian ad litem in family law cases. Prior to that I worked in psychiatric and medical emergency rooms conducting mental health assessments and providing crisis counseling. I have worked with incarerated adult and juvenile offenders in Texas and Louisiana. I was a crisis counselor with Denton county mental health services and provided expert court testimony for mental health hearings. I also worked at Green Oaks Behavioral Health in Dallas, TX as a Crisis Clinician, Case Manager, and Intake Specialist.
