What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

I help leaders get better, teams work better together, and organizations support those leaders and teams by developing healthy, people-centered cultures. My coaching is designed to help leaders become more self-aware and build strong relationships while keeping accountable to the goals that they set for themselves and/or their teams. I combine sound leadership principles with culture, communication, teamwork, emotional intelligence, and mental fitness in the workplace, so leaders and their teams are healthier, happier, more fulfilled, and more productive.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

Ultimately, my family has contributed the most to my success as a coach. First, my family of origin, from whom I learned the value of faith, hard work, and lifelong learning. Then, my husband, who gave me the support and encouragement to follow my dreams and launch my business. And finally, my children, who inspire me to be creative, to try new things, and to celebrate my successes.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

My over 20 years of study in philosophy and mindfulness combined with my training in evidence based health, wellness and behavioural science help me to be truly present for each client and help them the find most effective path towards their thriving. Whether they’ve struggled with procrastination, meditation, relationships, exercise, food, motivation or finding meaning at work, there are answers that are unique to each individual. Working with the whole of the person helps them to feel integrated. They become the architects of their lives.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

This might sound simplistic, but taking myself fully into each session has been the single most important thing that has contributed to my success as a coach. Specialising as I do in burnout, anxiety and lack of focus, I was inundated with clients struggling with exactly these during the two years of lockdown. And with each wave of Covid, things only got worse, and the reopening of the world brought with it its own challenges. I navigate the continuing storm one session at a time. In that moment, nothing else exists for me.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

My purpose, goal and mission through my coaching and therapy is to inspire and guide people to evolve into the highest and grandest expression of themselves so they can embrace their passion and purpose and serve the world to the best of their ability. I  work with individuals from a strengths-based sociological perspective. I meet each individual wherever they are on their own transformational journey and use techniques based on Positive Psychology to help bolster their inherent strengths to help them achieve their desired goals and resonate at a higher vibration to align with their hopes and dreams.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

My professional work as a mental health therapist and my coaching programs that I completed with Martin Seligman, who has been coined the father of Positive Psychology and Mentor Coach with Dr. Ben Dean. Beyond my professional training, what has helped me  is my deep belief that every human being has a soul that knows it’s deeper purpose and where it wants to go in this lifetime. I rely on my spiritual and intuitive gifts to listen to what is being said and to listen into the silence.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

As a Mental Health Coach, I utilize an eclectic approach, adopting tools & techniques from CBT, Positive Psychology, NLP & Logotherapy. I support my clients to reach their goals by focusing & building on their inner strength & resilience. My clients learn the tools & techniques to live their lives ‘inside-out.’ When faced with unpleasant situations or obstacles that are outside of their control, they learn to maintain their underlying sense of optimism, resilience, hope & balance – secure in the knowledge that no matter what the situation is; they are enough, they can cope with the situation & things will get better.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

I engage with my clients in an empathetic, supportive & non-judgmental manner to help them increase self-awareness, build on their strengths, explore options & develop strategies to navigate their way through life’s challenges.

Almost all of my clients quote my empathetic, non-judgemental nature, thought-provoking questioning, and strong ability to understand and communicate as the reasons they enjoy working with me. So, I guess I can attribute the credit for my success as a mental health coach to these.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

While historically, the mental health industry has sought primarily to diagnose and provide individuals mere coping mechanisms that leave them in pain and with a belief that they must settle, I help individuals turn around chronic mental health challenges through the SSS Method of Mental Conditioning which emphasizes creating a true Solution, by getting to the Source, and by establishing a system for Sustainability. While most people who pursue traditional therapy or counseling see little to no impact over many months or years, we routinely help people create deep and lasting change in 2-3 months on average.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

The most important thing in me helping anyone to change is helping them realize that any repetitive issues they are facing in themselves is simply a conditioned pattern of the mind, and that through a conditioning-based approach they can be in charge of how they think, feel, act, and, therefore, how they live. No person is ever confined to how they have lived in the past.

Sylvia Bruce

My motivation is the saying: “Be the change that you wish to see in the world”. For me that’s a world where it’s okay to talk mental health, a world where we look after our mental health as we do our physical health. Where mental health is considered a workplace asset, that way perhaps much is preventable.

Michelle Flynn

I am a woman in my 40s and I can finally say that I am no longer constantly sick, exhausted or overweight!
This is my story…
“Are you ok?” my husband, Matt, asked through the closed bathroom door.
Sadly, the answer was a “No”.
I was lying on the bathroom floor having passed out from being ill for the 12th time that year.

It was a long road that had led to that point…I was born in North London in 1975 and, apart from a few years living in Bristol for University, have lived there all my life, until Covid happened at which point I decided to move to Brighton.
After graduating, my career started in IT recruitment and 13 years ago I also started providing career coaching to my recruitment clients, as well as relationship coaching to many of my friends (and can confidently claim a few wedding feathers in my cap).
I worked hard with passion, I exercised and socialised, and worked some more to build my business and be a success.

Dr. Wendy Nickerson

In my experience as a clinical psychologist, I learned the value of traditional approaches to mental health care; yet as an integrative health coach for over 10 years, I know that there is a greater scope and diversity to the techniques and tools available that can deeply impact the wellness of the whole person.

MY JOURNEY
Initially, this was not my game plan.

The Top Mental Health Coaches mental health coach

Until 2010, I thought I would teach chemistry or work in a pharmaceutical company. Thankfully, I discovered, life had another plan, and through my mental health crisis I found my calling.
Possibly like you, in the beginning it took time for me to accept that there was a problem, to ask for help, and to find the right support. It also took time for me to let go of my old identity as someone with a mental illness once I was fully healthy and well.
Today, I struggle less within. I’m more focused, calm, and clear-minded than before. I’m also learning to stay true to myself, to be more loving and trusting of myself. It’s a great feeling – one I wish for you.
Of course, I didn’t get here alone. This kind of well-being and clarity is not something any of us can develop without the love and support of others. I’ve been blessed to have the support of my family, friends, spiritual counsellor, colleagues, community resources, and my loving partner along the way. Yes, it takes a village.
