What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

My leadership coaching focuses on two often overlook aspects of leadership: The role leaders play in creating workplace cultures that drive extraordinary results, and the power of leveraging your sense of humor as a leader.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

The single most important thing that has driven my success as a coach has been to research, firsthand, inspiring workplaces and leaders around the globe and build a databank of ideas that I can access to share with clients and use as inspiration to drive conversations.

Coaching with me is transformational. As a trusted partner, I support my clients diving deep into their values, skills and career ambitions, carving out a clear path forward. With my Big Tech background, I’m no stranger to the dynamic, fast-paced realm they’re used to. From avoiding burnout to securing promotions, transitioning industries, or positioning experiences – I’ve done it and coach clients through it to success.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

There are many tactics that have contributed to my success as a coach, but it all boils down to having a growth mindset. I pivot to meet client needs, welcome feedback, and persistently invest in sharpening my skills. This mindset fuels my approach and helps me support my clients to transform their mindset, uncover things about themselves and embark on their own (career) transformation.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

Being both an accredited coach and psychotherapist allows me to help my clients understand better how their mind works.  This is essential for personal growth. I work with clients to help them learn to accept our modes of thought rather than fight them so we can use this to help manage life’s challenges. Normally it is the chains of the past or the fear of the future that holds people back.  By working closely with my clients I help create an epiphany moment or moments that empowers them to drive change and growth for themselves.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

It’s difficult to pinpoint one single critical thing however it is through working with 100s of clients and spending literally 1000s of hours with them discussing their issues or helping them grow as individuals that has been the single most critical contribution.  Whilst we all have things in common, it is through gaining this level of experience and listening closely to each client that allows me to help my clients find the right key to unlock the door to success.

She has coached hundreds of people to be effective leaders, find their purpose, bring big projects to life, navigate tricky transitions, and gain work-life balance.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

I have an established, successful method that allows creative, caring professionals to make big career changes, have a clear path forward, gain confidence, and understand their core values and strengths. With a focus on ontological coaching, I provide accountability, but I’m also always looking at how my clients are being, or what habits or mindsets may be holding them back. My clients consistently tell me that they have “A-ha moments” that have changed their lives.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

The most critical thing that has contributed to my success has been staying in the work myself. I’m coached consistently, have a rich community of coaches that support and challenge me, and I’m always using the tools on myself to grow, re-evaluate my work and offerings, and my life. When prospective clients talk with me I think it’s clear that I’m genuine in my work and walk the talk. This also allows me to have more fun and be relaxed when I’m coaching.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

Leadership fundamentally revolves around decision-making, and the weight of these decisions often demands diverse perspectives. My approach, as an alternative to one-on-one coaching, involves creating “triads” consisting of three leaders. Within these triads, I guide members to harness the collective wisdom of the group, enriching their decision-making processes. This collaborative environment nurtures creativity and innovation, leading to more effective solutions. Triads also foster accountability among members, which in turn drives higher levels of productivity. Furthermore, these groups provide a safe and supportive space for leaders to openly address challenges, receive constructive feedback, and find encouragement. This comprehensive leadership development approach goes beyond perspective-sharing, delivering holistic growth and improved decision-making.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

The most critical factor contributing to my success as a coach has been my unwavering commitment to continuous learning and growth. As a coach, staying current with the latest coaching methodologies, leadership trends, and industry insights is essential. It allows me to offer my clients the most effective strategies and guidance. Moreover, active listening and empathetic understanding of my clients’ unique challenges and goals have been pivotal in building strong rapport and trust. Ultimately, it’s the combination of ongoing self-improvement and a deep connection with my clients that has propelled my success in coaching.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

I support leaders through an adaptive coaching model to create a balance with personal and professional aspirations. There is a strong focus on understanding the individual, their needs, starting point and on building Emotional Intelligence.  This helps in turn to develop their connections with colleagues and helps them move forward in a positive manner towards defined goals.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

Through my Doctorate, I studied many educational journals showing impact of ideas with school teams, the progress and how many iterations were involved before a solution was found.  At the core of these educational studies are teams working together, professionals supporting one another and using coaching.  The use of the coaching models have had a significant impact on my successes as a coach including GROW, Solution-focused, CLEAR, FUEL etc.

I love a good certification and am certified in Positive Psychology, Success Coaching, Human Design, Authentic Leadership, and NLP (with more on the way). But what has been most critical is coaching from a space of authenticity and vulnerability. I share what I have experienced firsthand and am always upfront and honest about my own mistakes, learning experiences, and faults. I speak from the heart, don’t sugar coat and my community can count on me to tell it like it is. None of us are always happy and thriving. I believe in the power of feeling it to heal it and I live my values there.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

When it comes to confidence – I don’t help people fake it ’till they make it. I go deep with my clients and help them achieve lasting confidence. I help people shift their core beliefs that have been keeping them stuck, fearful, or hiding so they can finally let go and shine!

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

I am always working on myself and trying new things. I like to live in my stretch zone! For example, I recently took a storytelling class at Second City in Chicago, where we had to perform at the end on a stage (a sort of, comedy club vibe). I was nervous! My limiting belief was “I’m not an entertainer! I speak to educate!” but I did it. This type of consistent growth helps me be a better coach.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

Clients describe me as warm, honest, empathetic, a good listener, able to create a safe and comfortable environment that helps people relax and talk openly, and ask thought-provoking questions to encourage curiosity.  Often when clients approach me, they are looking for structure in coaching, so I develop individualized coaching programs unique to their needs, providing a “road map” to help them get closer to achieving their goals.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

The single most important thing that has helped me achieve success in my 8 years of coaching is my ability to “see as” the client – to see the world and their situation from their perspective, as best as I can.  I also have a dual specialty – career transition and leadership – which allows clients to feel supported when these two topics intersect.  For example, I can help clients develop their leadership competencies, and if they come to a point where they realize they need to transition out of leadership, I can support them with career transition activities and strategies to help them find a role that gives them energy for a company that believes what they believe in.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

My coaching stance is to take a holistic approach with executives and perform a qualitative analysis of their needs using various tools and techniques to accelerate growth. I work with individuals to create a “North Star” strategy, outlining what matters most in order to grow and thrive as a leader. Using various assessment models, I can help the executive find their strengths and weaknesses, which can be used to accelerate change and growth. I also create a trusted environment where individuals find the space to grow and flourish as individuals and also at their organization.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

Creating a collaborative environment where learning and growth are embedded into the hearts and minds of all of the individuals is important in order to move the needle forward for individuals and organizations. Ensuring that you create trusted relationships where you partner with your clients to find areas of strengths and weaknesses is also a very important area that needs to be cultivated. Finally, giving individuals the space to grow at a pace that fits their needs is important and relevant for change.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

Studies in consciousness show that our inner reality creates our outer experience. I have found that anything not working in someone’s outer life can almost always be traced down to one single thing on the inside. My zone of genius lies in my ability to quickly identify that one thing and facilitate its release. When that occurs, not only do disruptive behavioral patterns disappear, the client finds a level freedom and possibility never before realized. No longer plagued by the invisible hand that used to direct their lives, they sit firmly in the driver’s seat of their life and career.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

Without a doubt, the most valuable thing I bring to my coaching is my unique education. Because of my expertise in Spiritual Psychology, I am able to work with clients on the physical, mental, emotional and Spiritual levels. I not only offer life changing tools and strategies for outer success, I have an equal number for helping others master their complex inner worlds of emotions, thoughts, beliefs and rules. I call what I do “Human Mastery & Spiritual Expansion.”

Cindy Lee

Cindy Lee has coached seasoned and emerging leaders globally for 20+ years to cultivate their executive presence, solidify their convictions, and build solid foundations upon character, discipline, identity, and a sense of stewardship.

Top leadership coaches from America Leadership Coaches

Also through speaking, writing, and as a consultant, she designs leadership development programs and leverages her background in corporate, nonprofit, HR, and business operations to help leaders navigate career and life choices with clarity, direction, and integrity.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

I’ve seen how conventional wisdom in leadership/career development is backwards and often proves unnecessarily damaging and ineffective.  I challenge how it nudges high-performing individuals into situations where they feel they’re drowning, ill-equipped, imposters, or needing to copy other leaders’ approaches and goals.  Since leaders are people that others follow, we cultivate their convictions, character, competence, and clarity of purpose so they can faithfully lead others in ways authentic to them… and pursue consistency throughout family, community, relationships, and career.  As a trusted advisor, sounding-board, mentor and coach, I help people find peace and trust themselves at a deeper level.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

Clients often say they came for what they thought they wanted, but got what they needed and so much more… and quicker than they thought possible.  I’m wired for efficiency, to see order in chaos/confusion, the fun in obligation, possibilities where they’re not obvious, and opportunities amidst change.  While I can help someone reach certain goals, I want to make sure they’re “right” for them in the first place.  I’ve created programs to quickly help clients get unstuck, find clarity, and tangibly move forward with joy and direction.  And when we’re each fully present and show up, it’s transformational.

I draw on the work of many thought leaders to broaden my understanding of neuroscience and frequency.  This informs my coaching extensively.  I specialize in Entrepreneurship Coaching, Identity Intelligence and Mindset Development. I also draw from my personal experience of dramatic transformation, overcoming anxiety and depression, extreme yo-yo dieting and eating disorders. I am living proof that you can indeed transform your identity.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

The most critical thing that contributes to my success as a coach is being intentionally relatable.  I find this approach inspires others to be authentic, vulnerable, and more open to living out their own transformation. I find being relentlessly curious enables me to co-collaborate in accumulating deep insights, uncovering layers buried in unconscious past programming.  This helps my client step into radical self-acceptance, total responsibility and literally change frequency. It is my greatest reward seeing clients stepping into hope, healing, and contribution, fueled by their unique WHY.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

As a young boy growing up in the United States, I was fortunate to have a father who served as a Marine and was appointed to a presidential guard for John F. Kennedy. Later on, he achieved the position of Chief of Police. My father’s influence instilled in me a deep sense of discipline and determination that has guided me throughout my life.
At the age of twelve, I embarked on training with the SWAT team, driven by an intense competitive spirit that pushed me to always strive for my personal best. This drive, along with the values of simplicity and discipline, laid the groundwork for my subsequent success.
When I turned nineteen, I made the decision to leave the United States and start a new chapter in Germany. Beginning from scratch, I faced numerous challenges, but through unwavering effort and dedication, I managed to climb my way to the top. The level of success I enjoy today is a direct result of my relentless pursuit of personal growth.
Through my journey, I have come to realize that there are no shortcuts or magic formulas to achieving one’s goals. It all boils down to embracing simplicity and maintaining a strong sense of discipline. Furthermore, I have been privileged to work alongside exceptional individuals and organizations, which has further enriched my path.
Above all, I have learned that success is a choice. Every day, we have the opportunity to either strengthen ourselves as individuals or allow our potential to wither away. I firmly believe that by choosing simplicity, discipline, and surrounding ourselves with remarkable people and organizations, we can unlock our true potential and achieve remarkable things.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

There are no two people or businesses that are identical so I don’t offer cookie cutter tools but rather help women develop a customized framework and foundation they can build on for years to come. I focus on where the client is now and help them find success at every level, not just when they reach the top.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

The single most important contribution to my success has been creating community around the work I do. Being in the leadership space has unique challenges and cultivating the Society of Leading Ladies community where female leaders can collaborate and develop their leadership skills in a trusted space has led to greater impact overall.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

I work with groups and individuals to enhance their learning around topics related to organizational psychology. This includes, but is not exclusive to: team dynamics, resiliency, emotional intelligence and conflict management. My experience as a psychotherapist, and my education in corporate training, allows me to discuss topics that relate to people as individuals within a system. I use principles of positive psychology and problem solving to help address issues that may arise in the workplace and in participants’ personal lives. I am certified in 3 psychometric assessments that I also use in my corporate work.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

The single most important thing that has contributed to my success is the blending of my psychotherapy experience with my knowledge of organizational behaviour. This allows me to not only focus on corporate experience but also relate to the human experience that is often overlooked in the organizational systems that are typically in place. My expertise in human interaction and cognitive processing allows me to excel in my work with teams and leaders in a corporate setting. This range has allowed me to offer: (1) individual, couple and family therapy (2) individual and group coaching (3) workshop development and facilitation (4) leadership coaching.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

My practice is unique, as it combines my expertise and training in organizational psychology and behavior, with coaching at both the individual and organizational levels. This allows me to address deep-seated issues and achieve sustainable change within leaders and their organizations. My Shadow Coaching methodology empowers individuals to identify their blind spots and shadows, and transform their behavior, leadership capabilities, and decision-making skills. By fostering a culture of accountability and trust, I enable organizations to overcome challenges, fulfill their potential, and grow high potentials into future organizational leaders.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

The most significant contributor to my success is my ability to integrate three approaches – Coaching, Organizational Psychology, and Organizational Behavior – to work with interconnected systems within an organization. This enables me to address the organizational systems and culture that support its people, as well as the people who promote a healthy culture and foster innovation. Additionally, my extensive international experience collaborating with leaders and organizations worldwide has provided me with valuable insights and perspectives that have aided me in achieving success as a coach.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

My coaching is more about asking and listening rather than talking and telling. Too much telling breeds dependency and learned helplessness. I coach more through questions than answers. I want my clients to hear themselves think out loud and together we decide the course of action to take.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

The single most important thing has been the results I get. Coaching isn’t effective unless there is a change in mindsets or skillsets. My coaching has helped clients get to their next level of performance or achievement. I approach my coaching with more curiosity rather than criticism.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

Gene Hammett’s unique approach to executive coaching centers around company growth. By helping CEOs break through limits, establish foundational elements of predictable growth, and create more time to lead, Gene has enabled over a hundred clients to make the Inc5000 list, with a dozen breaking through $10m in revenue in three years. His coaching and frameworks bring alignment and effectiveness to the entire team, speeding the application of leadership skills throughout the company.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

In my decade of being an executive coach, I discovered the difference in consulting and coaching which are two distinct approaches to problem-solving. As a former consultant, I advised companies on mergers, growth strategies, and competitive research. While consulting provides valuable expert advice, it’s not transformative. Coaching focuses on empowering individuals to discover and own their goals, processes, and obstacles. Coaching builds confidence in their ability to figure things out for themselves and maximize their potential. Also, I have developed a set of tools and proven frameworks that speed the process throughout an organization.

While he enjoys working with many different people across different industries, he specializes in working with those passionate about making the world a better place to be – beginning with their inner world.

Top leadership coaches from America Leadership Coaches

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

I am passionate about helping others realize the power of leading from the inside out. We commonly look externally for answers or try to force things in the outside world (people, outcomes, processes, etc.) to align with our wants. I believe energy is much more effectively spent looking inside and getting curious about the only thing we can control – our conscious thoughts and how we can use them to create and influence more value in our lives and the lives of others. I partner with clients in their Valuegenic Self-Leadership journey with my Axiogenics® certification.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

The single most important thing that has supported my coaching journey is adopting a “valuegenic” (value generative) mindset. When you seek and intentionally and scientifically understand (using a VQ® profile assessment) how to create value, incredible things happen. By practicing what I coach, it creates the space for me to continue growing and expanding with my clients and collectively create more value together.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

Drawing on my experiences as an IBM employee, entrepreneur, start-up CEO, and a leadership coach to executives in my 10+ years of facilitating and moderating CEO Round tables, CEOs can learn more from other CEOs with their experience than just myself.  As a result, I have developed and implemented a CEO Playbook Program that all CEOs can use to implement the right strategies that will help in the accelerated growth of their business across all levels.  It has been hugely successful and very cost effective.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

No leadership coach just has one thing that has contributed to company success. The most important thing that I have learned that drives organizational success is having the right people in the right seats.  Core values are important to any organization but people are your success.  How you hire, manage, and motivate them along with providing them tools and strategies for their success is the one thing that drives company success long term. I also developed a unique interview tool for hiring the right people that has been highly successful. Hire for Culture, Train for Skill.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

I focus on a ‘People First’ approach, building a relationship of trust and respect with each employee. I make these discussions a priority, completely focused solely on the person’s aspirational goals, and not about their work objectives or external factors. I begin by briefly sharing my own past experiences, positive and negative, as the foundation of our relationship. I believe it breaks down barriers of organizational hierarchy and allows the employee to be open and transparent, free to share through true self.  This time together lets them voice their aspirations, describe their strengths and opportunities, and a safe space for me in providing constructive feedback and/or advice of their plans.  I also take a moment to recognize and celebrate their successes along the way.  At the end of each conversation, I set clear goals and expectations leaving them with an action plan and milestones that excite and encourage employees to take ownership of their own development.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

The single most important thing has been the natural leaders and coaches who took the time to support me as a person, not just another employee, and listen to my dreams, understand my own personal goals, who gave me the space to learn more and grow my career through both successful work projects and special assignments that they knew would challenge me to take action, think strategically and become a though leader.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

As a recovering asshole, I know what is required to level up. Over the last ten years, I have studied and combined theories, tools, and approaches from Ontological Coaching, Holistic Healing, Mystical and Indigenous traditions, and Therapeutic techniques. These modalities and my uniquely raw, direct, and bold masculine approach, combined with my magnetic, playful, and creative spiritual feminine ease, have supported hundreds of clients to thrive in joy, wealth, and love. The foundation of all my work starts with me taking it on and then sharing the power of Integrity, Commitment, Vulnerability, Trust, and Faith with others providing them the access and ability to create and build an extraordinary life.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

Success as a coach has been made possible first due to excellent training. I challenged myself to take on the best and most rigorous coaching training and education with Accomplishment Coaching, get my PCC with the International Coach Federation, and am working towards my Master Certified Coach designation. That foundation, plus other training and having my own coaches over the last eight years, have transformed me and set me up for success. As a coach, I firmly believe it all starts with you. Far too many coaches aren’t living extraordinary joyful, flourishing lives themselves and yet are attempting to support others to do something they have yet learned or invested in themselves. The second is simply a combination of discipline, vulnerability, and faith. Doing the things repeatedly that are out of your comfort zone and that you trust will lead to success even when they scare you, are complex, and don’t feel great because you see a bigger vision of what’s possible down the road.

Katharina Schmidt

Katharina has worked as executive and leadership team coach for over 20 years. Her start-up clients call her their leadership whisperer.  She has explored the concept of leadership, influence and power since building sand castles as a toddler. She is in awe with leadership potential in people and she loves to push people to maximize that potential. She believes leadership is learnership; she is a learning and growth junkie: ICF certified Master Coach, ex- CEO, Kellogg MBA, doctorate in leadership psychology and certified in numerous methods and frameworks. She loves them all and follows none or when relevant. She always looks for gorillas in the room of her senior and C-suite executive coaches. She cares for her coaches and she kicks their butts around their (sometimes limiting) beliefs. She wants to change the face of leadership and overcome addictions to (white male) charisma.

Top leadership coaches from America Leadership Coaches

She supports her coaches in designing and developing their own authentic executive presence. She deeply enjoys to witness people reflect, experiment, embrace and grow. Next to her role as coach she is a regularly challenged mom of two teenage boys and happily married to her husband for more than 20 years. She takes care of her body as if she will live to over 100. She has lived in 6 countries and speaks 5 Language.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

Her work with leaders is around connection, clarity, coaching and commitment. It is based on research, yet highly practical and dialogic. She does not believe in yet another framework. She does believe in reflecting, mirroring, working on closing knowing-doing gaps and the magic of vulnerability and dialogue. Her work is systemic, she works with individuals and the interaction of individuals  within the system they work in.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

What has contributed to her effectiveness as a coach is her ongoing willingness to reflect, her ability to listen to stories and see people’s potential, her development as systemic coach and her doctorate in leadership psychology. Her work as CEO has created a deep understanding of the complexity of leaders in innovative organizations.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

My coaching is very transformational,  organic and strongly focusses  on the being of the client.  I feel that tools are fine to overcome situations, but in order for my clients to break through the barriers that they might be experiencing in both their personal and professional lives, we both need to have the courage to explore some of the unknown places that have not been visited before.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

I feel that being a great coach is all about self-awareness and constant personal growth.   I have learned that the power of pause is the single most important thing that has contributed to my success as a Breakthrough Coach and mentor.   I am able to create space for both myself and my client to truly reflect and look within. What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

My niche, and passion for coaching, is in supporting high flyers to recognise their authentic self. I work with a solutions focussed approach, which is a positive and uplifting process. We focus on what is working, and how to grow this. People are at their most powerful and influential when they are being their authentic selves. Further, working from an authentic stance is energising, and eliminates internal conflict arising from the tension between being the genuine you, and being the person you think you should, which is exhausting!

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

The greatest realisation that has contributed to my success as a coach is recognising how quickly quality coaching can transform a client’s life, and how to enable this. Having spent some years in psychoanalysis, which has been life-changing for me, it is a revelation that changes in perspective and increased influence and pleasure can take place so quickly with solutions focussed coaching approach. My clients completely inspire me with their powerful insights and evolution, which happens almost effortlessly when they tap into their true self, and feel proud and inspired.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

I work from the premise that leaders are part of a larger ecosystem, that their leadership moves and the moves of others have a profound and lasting impact on the ecosystem of the whole. That premise in combination with the notion that we are all a product of our experiences suggest that even one new practice, and especially many new practices, will change the outcomes an organization can produce.  It’s not just that leaders lead by example, though they do, it’s that being open to change, then trying new things, and creating new experiences for those in the organization enables the entirely of the organization to see and create possibilities that didn’t exist before.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

The single most important thing that has contributed to my successful career as a coach has been the continued learning about and application of the mind/body connection, the power in understanding how the brain works and what power it has in shaping how we move through the world:  the notion that it’s not how one acts, but simply the how others experience our actions that can change the world.

I shift perspectives by using techniques I learned through behavioral therapy and my experience working with fortune 500 companies.  My clients redefine what leadership is through questioning the status quo and connecting with who they really are and what they really want. What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

I truly believe that the single most important thing to my success is my desire to change the world.  I am an advocate for happiness for all, and advocacy is how I lead.  However, in order to advocate for change I have to be the change, I have to lead by example.  Because of this principle I work to be better every day, I admit when I am not, and I make honest attempts to shift my own perspective.  Changing the world is a big job, and it requires understanding the large impacts of small efforts and persistence in dedication.
