What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

Kitty provides coaching using multiple approaches designed to meet the individual client’s needs. The mainstay of her program is her signature course, “Jumpstart Your Job Search,” which she created in 2015 and then revised and expanded in 2019. She provides the course as the mainstay of her service but has developed multiple access points into the program, from a do-it-yourself model to a full-service program that includes email support, group coaching, and premium one-on-one assistance.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

The most important thing that has contributed to Kitty’s success as a coach is her background as an educator and her understanding of the need for a teacher who wants to transition out of the classroom to market themselves to the job they want rather than the job they have. Teachers must learn how to use the job description’s language if they want to get past the Applicant Tracking System. Most teachers don’t know how to do that without help. What sets Kitty apart is that she has been in their shoes. She understands what teachers can do, and as a career coach, she knows how to help them translate what they can do into the language of the job they want in their next career.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

I create safe, playful environments for change so clients become clear, calm and confident leaders in their own lives. The client is put at the centre of transformation, using three keys based on neuroscience and mindfulness principles. This provides CLARITY on who you are and what’s important; CONTROL by building emotional fitness and making the best use of time, and deepens CONNECTIONS to improve relationships with self and others. When you know who you are, what you want and have the confidence to move towards it, exciting things happen!

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

I have a gift for connecting people to their own inner wisdom. This is a key distinction of success for my clients. You have to know how to block out the external noise and cut through the automatic programming that is stopping you from hearing yourself so you can connect with your own internal guidance to create happiness and success. I give clients the tools and support to do this. We are here to experience both of those things – it isn’t one or the other.

What do you do differently or how is your coaching different from others?

For me, it is important that the people I work with spend time exploring what it is that they want and need from a job so they are happy at both work and at home. What is right when we are young and single may not be right for us with children, or when approaching retirement. Hence, I provide coaching on understanding strengths, motivations, purpose and culture fit at work, alongside coaching on priorities in current and future seasons of life.  From this knowledge base, ‘right fit’ careers/ jobs can be identified, applied for and obtained.

What according to you has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

When I re-trained to become a coach from a radio producer, my mentor introduced me to the Gallup Clifton StrengthsFinder assessment. Gallup have found that people who get to use their strengths everyday are 6 times more engaged at work and report having a 3 times better quality of life. Finding the application of results to be so effective in my own career change, I now ask all my clients to also do this assessment. We use the findings to help identify what they bring to a role and what they need from a role, so they can thrive.
