I will also be elaborating on the different types and niches of dating coaches.

Dating Coach: The Definitive Guide Dating Coach

Furthermore, this chapter will serve as a guideline for you to understand the specific dating coaching niche best suited for you as you can start thinking about where your specific expertise lies.

So, let’s get started!

THE BASICS
THE BASICS

Who is a Dating Coach?

A Dating Coach is someone who offers coaching in the form of programs, sessions, services, and products to improve people’s dating lives and, thereby, helps them start and maintain a successful relationship.

A good Dating Coach considers a lot of factors to scale up their business and become highly effective in their execution. They discuss the client’s needs and problems, use role-playing methods and basically rewire their thinking and behavior processes.

They offer personalized and practical advice on how to meet and date someone who is compatible with you.

This service usually includes:

  • A personalized strategy for meeting new people in your area
  • Personalized set of questions to ask on a date
  • Tips on how to make the conversation flow smoothly
  • Practical guidance on what you should do if things don’t work out

What does a Dating Coach do?

There is a common misconception that Dating Coaches teach seduction. This idea is highly inaccurate.

Reputed Dating Coaches focus on topics that are relevant to the art of dating – from personality development, communication skills, and helping them in developing a charming persona, to learning how to be romantic without being sleazy and even things like how to dress well for a date.

A Dating Coach encourages you to be who you are and brings out the best version of yourself.

Not only do they do that effectively, but they also help you bring a little bit of zing into your personality. In short, they help you highlight the best parts of your personality while teaching you how to effectively manage your romantic shortcomings.

The Difference Between a Dating Coach and a Relationship Coach

If you are new to the world of “love” coaching, you might often hear two distinct types of coaches – Dating Coaches and Relationship Coaches.

But what exactly is the difference between the two?

Simply put, a Relationship Coach assists you in achieving long-term relationship fulfillment, whereas a Dating Coach focuses on the initial stages of meeting and dating.

A Dating Coach works with you to improve your conversational skills and confidence. They show you how to progress from casual talk to more in-depth, fascinating conversation. Or they show you how to flirt on a first date without coming across as needy or “weird”.

A Dating Coach can also teach you how to use seduction techniques and, hopefully, how to be more sensual. Not all Dating Coaches can help with sexual confidence, which is why finding someone who specializes in both sex and dating can prove to be beneficial.

A Relationship Coach, on the other hand, assists with communication improvement with the purpose of making you more real and intimate with your current partner.

They teach skills such as embracing vulnerability, listening attentively, and practicing empathic speech. They can also show you how your established character methods are interfering with your intimate relationships in ways you failed to fathom.

A good Relationship Coach can help you move away from painful behaviors such as self depreciation, unhealthy dating habits, difficulties in opening up, etc. and toward more dynamic, present interactions.

More often than not, a lot of Dating Coaches even get trained in Relationship Coaching, simply because it is much easier for clients to continue getting trained from the same coach – both for dating and maintaining a relationship.

The distinction between a Dating Coach and a Relationship Coach exists so that clients can easily understand and choose the right kind of coach for their needs.

Types of Dating Coaches

I have now established what a Dating Coach does, but who exactly qualifies as a Dating Coach?

With the industry being so scattered, there is no one answer, especially because different Dating Coaches serve different purposes and address different niches.

Let’s look at some of the most common types of Dating Coaches.

  1. A Dating Coach Who Offers Coaching Services

This is the most common Dating Coach that comes to anyone’s minds when they think of this profession. This person teaches people all the necessary skills needed to learn how to “date effectively” and present themselves in the best manner possible.

They also focus on teaching their client the necessary interpersonal and other skills needed to attract the correct partner. This type of business can be both online, in person, or a combination of both. I have explained this in depth in this part.

  1. An Expert in Writing Dating Profiles and in Online Dating

This type of a coach will handle all your online dating apps and websites to make you stand out in a crowd.

They may or may not teach you the actual dating skills you need, though.

  1. A Dating/Relationship Writer for a Publication

Think of this as an “agony aunt” column where the writer is usually giving relationship or dating advice in publications to set questions or a set topic.

It is not customized and serves better as research, rather than for acquiring skills.

  1. A Relationship Coach

Although it is not the exact same skill, some coaches specialize in the “relationship” aspect of coaching as discussed before, rather than the actual dating phase.

Types of Niches a Dating Coach Can Have

There are various types of niches for Dating Coaches in the market. I have come up with a list of some of the most prominent niches for you to get started.

  • Dating coaches for men
  • Dating coaches for women
  • Dating coaches for older people
  • Dating coaches for younger people
  • Dating coaches for non-binary people
  • Dating coaches for people with disabilities
  • Dating coaches for affluent businessmen
  • Dating coaches for highly successful women
  • Dating coaches for people with trauma

You get my drift, right? The list is practically endless!

If you can find a need in the market for a specific Dating Coach, that need can be a niche. Just ensure that the niche you choose to serve in is neither too broad nor too small.

Why do people need a Dating Coach?

A Dating Coach is hired to address specific needs of clients that are often not fulfilled by other aspects of their lives.

These could include the need for help with self-esteem, confidence, anxiety of approaching people, social skills, or even dating skills.

Some people hire a Dating Coach to help them find love, others want to find someone but don’t know how they can do it in an honest way.

Some want to be more confident in themselves and their body image, while others are looking for new friends, or someone they can date casually without feeling pressured into committing.

In short, there is no fixed answer as to why people seek out a Dating Coach. But if people feel stuck in life, unable to find a partner who satisfies their needs, they often seek out a Dating Coach.

Especially in today’s world, where finding genuine connections is getting harder and harder, a Dating Coach can help smoothen the process and make everything more seamless.

How much does a Dating Coach cost?

Dating Coaches are experts in the dating world. They have a deep understanding of how to find the right person, what to do on a date, and how to get someone to like them.

There are many different fees for Dating Coaches, but they usually range between $500-$1000 per month. However, it might totally depend on the area and type of Dating Coach one seeks. I have talked about this in a bit more detail here!

How to Find a Reliable Dating Coach?

One of the first places people search for any information these days is Google.

However, it can be difficult to find a reliable Dating Coach online, especially because not everything you see online is true. So I strongly recommend conducting in-depth research before selecting one.

Also, it is important to look for Dating Coaches who are already featured in the news or a reliable agency, like these ones.

Instagram can be a good resource for finding Dating Coaches as well, but again, one needs to verify the reliability.

For people looking to be a Dating Coach, my advice would be to set up a good online presence to help reach your clients faster.
I have more tips here and I can also personally help you set up your Dating Coach business with my coaching courses.

Do Dating Coaches actually work?

The short answer is – YES! While dating in itself is quite complicated, online dating and apps have made it even more difficult to trust people.

An expert Dating Coach can help someone cut through the distractions, stop chasing after the wrong things, and get extremely smart about how to go about interacting with people.

With this support and direction, Dating Coaches can help to bypass months or years of dead-end relationships and straight into the arms of your true love.

Dating services are now a $2.5 billion industry, and keeping up with the ever-changing market requires a great deal of talent.

A Dating Coach, on the other hand, makes their living doing just that. So why do it for a living? If you want to be successful, it makes sense to hire a coach who has gone through this before and knows the solutions you’re looking for. After all, the sooner you meet and attract your ideal person, the sooner you can start living your dream life.

Chapter 2:

Can you be a good Dating Coach

If you have been on the fence about being a Dating Coach, this part of the blog will help you assess yourself to see if Dating Coaching can be the right fit for you.

After covering the basics in Chapter 1, I will now break down all the skills you will need to be a successful Dating Coach and why you must prepare yourself to hone these skills.

PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT TO BE A DATING COACH
PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT TO BE A DATING COACH

Essential Skills Needed for a Dating Coach

According to me, there are three skills which you need to master if you want to be a stellar Dating Coach. These are: interpersonal skills, communication skills, and business skills.

Interpersonal skills are highly important because if you are not a person with excellent interpersonal skills, how can you teach people to have excellent interpersonal skills?

Also, just like you cannot pour into an empty glass from an empty vase, you cannot expect to teach someone a skill if you don’t possess it yourself.

On the other hand, communication skills are just as important because it is not enough to only have good interpersonal skills. You also need to know how to communicate effectively and understand your clients’ ways of communication.

And lastly, you need to have or acquire essential skills needed to start and run a highly lucrative business.

Just like any other skills, if you don’t possess business skills, they can be learnt.

I have multiple coaching courses you can choose from, to help you acquire the correct business skills needed for being a standout Dating Coach. You can find it here

Let’s dive deeper into each of these necessary skills.

ESSENTIALS SKILLS NEEDED TO BE A DATING COACH
ESSENTIALS SKILLS NEEDED TO BE A DATING COACH

  • Interpersonal Skills

Firstly, interpersonal skills are going to be at the crux of your dating coaching journey. The correct interpersonal skills can set you miles apart from another dating coach with poor interpersonal skills.

So, what exactly are these interpersonal skills I am talking about?

I have carefully elaborated on each necessary interpersonal skill needed to succeed in this type of coaching.

Fig 1: Importance of interpersonal skills

As a Dating Coach, you need to make sure that you understand the client’s psychology.

This will ultimately help in deciphering their weaknesses and helping them convert it into their strengths.

  • Convincing Ability

A major role of a Dating Coach is to enable a real shift in the mindsets of the clients; to decipher and then change their thinking patterns.

Old habits die hard, though, so this requires a great deal of convincing and patience.

A Dating Coach also needs to ensure that they develop new lifestyle habits and dating/flirting skills that most people don’t even know about.

  • Accountability

Accountability keeps you in check in times of need.

One of the many reasons people fail at keeping up with their new year’s resolutions is because they don’t have anyone to keep them accountable.

When you have someone to answer to, your natural ways of procrastination gradually fade away.

  • Communication Skills

Secondly, just like interpersonal skills, even communication skills will be important in your dating coaching journey. If one is not able to communicate their thoughts and perception according to each client’s needs and understand what the client is trying to communicate to them, the journey of becoming a dating coach will be tough.

So read carefully to understand the needed communication skills for this profession.

  • Giving Clean And Easy Dating Advice

Dating advice and live demonstrations can go a long way in helping your clients understand what you mean.

Any advice has to be easy to decipher and implement in order for your clients to get maximum returns from the program or session.

As a Dating Coach, you might even have to help your clients out on the field, like at a restaurant or bar!

  • Integrity And Non-Judgement

A few clients might come in with a wide range of problems, and some of them might be uncomfortable or awkward to listen to.

By coming from a place of empathy and non-judgment, you will automatically develop a great connection with your client, thereby increasing their trust in you.

  • Honesty

Sometimes you have to be blunt to be kind. Being truthful and straightforward to your client helps a lot in getting the final results.

You may even have to tell your client to dress better, develop pleasing mannerisms, or speak more elegantly. Being candid and adopting a direct approach with clients will come in handy.

  • Business Skills

This is the biggest and most important trick you need to develop.

Perfecting this skill can take you as a brand and your business a long way to becoming profitable and successful.

But, thankfully, you don’t have to break your back over this. Check out my free webinar which guides you through how a coaching business works.

Do you have what it takes to be a Dating Coach?

While it may not be easiest to jump into the ‘unknown’ world of Dating Coaching for you, you can use these questions to self assess if you are headed in the right direction.

Remember – you have to be 100% honest with yourself, because you cannot choose a career path based on a hunch or mere interest. So grab a pen and a paper, and answer these questions truthfully.

Chapter 3:

The Path to Become a Dating Coach

If you have read this far into this article, you are definitely excited and all set to launch your Dating Coaching business.

“But what are the skills I need, Sai?”

If this is the question you have in mind, then in this part of the blog, I am going to give you all the resources you need to embark on your Dating Coaching journey such as if you need to get certified, which kind of certifications are accepted, salaries of dating coaches, etc.

Dating Coach: The Definitive Guide Dating Coach

I will also clear all the doubts you have about the path to becoming a Dating Coach, so let’s get to it!

HOW TO BECOME A DATING COACH
HOW TO BECOME A DATING COACH

Do I need a Dating Coaching certification?

Well, it depends!

You don’t need specific education or certification to be a Dating Coach. You just need the right motivation, confidence, and work ethic to achieve it!

Having an appropriate college degree in fields such as social work, a degree in psychology or cognitive behavioral therapy, or taking a certification course can make you look more credible and will also attract more clients.

It can take your business to the next level!

For instance, many international institutions offer a Dating Coach certification. I have listed such courses in depth here. All coaches need some level of Dating Coach training to make them more effective in running their own business.

Although there is no prescribed certification, taking up a few certificate courses and having someone coach you on how to become a successful coach really goes a long way in building your company and your brand!

Finally, keep in mind that if you aspire to be a successful Dating Coach you need to have a good work ethic, engage and be honest with your clients. You also need to know the value of the programs/sessions you offer and, of course, be smart in your business!

You can lead the positive and fulfilling life you always wanted to live by helping other people!

Why should I get certified if it is not “required”?

In an environment where anyone can become a Relationship Coach, having credentials might help you stand out.

While qualifications aren’t essential, most clients prefer to have some assurance that you know what you’re doing. This is especially critical if your company is just getting started.

If you already have a Bachelor’s degree, you can supplement it with a few particular schools that offer coaching certification or specialty certificates in dating and Relationship Coaching.

Other credentials to consider include:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in marriage and family therapy, counseling, psychology, or social work.
  • Through varied coursework, you can earn certification in any of these or allied professions.
  • Background in writing dating columns for newspapers or publications.
  • Endorsements and recommendations are extremely valuable credentials.
  • You can receive endorsements from teachers, professors, classmates, and other professionals in a relevant field if you’re just starting out. You can receive suggestions and testimonies once you have a few clients.

Where To Get Certified

Getting certified is always a good idea since it gives you good credibility before you get solid testimonials from your clients.

The best place to get certified is always the International Coach Federation. They are well-known and well-accepted around the world, and the courses are not very expensive, either.

Let’s look into some other certifications you might need apart from the credentials already mentioned above.

Best Certifications in the Field with their Costs

Listed below are some of the best ways to get certified as a dating coach in my opinion. You can read about them in depth before choosing which one to go ahead with.

Through the International Coach Federation (ICF), you can enroll in an accredited coach training program.

The basic courses need 30-126 hours of instruction with observation and practical experience. Anyone with current ICF credentials, or some type of coach training, is also eligible to enroll in an advanced coach training, which is more intensive and teaches higher skills.

These courses range anywhere between USD 300-USD 5oo, which is extremely justified for the amount of lifetime skills you are acquiring.

  • Hart Coaching Academy

The Hart Coaching Academy offers a credible certification program for Date Coaches. This institute is well-reputed and has been extensively featured on Canadian Living, CBC, Reader’s Digest, and a variety of other publications.

Since these courses are more specific, they cost a bit more than the ICF ones. For getting trained by the Hart Coaching Academy, you can pay a one-time lifetime access fee of USD 1997 or a six monthly payment of USD 377 each.

  • Loveology University

Loveology University (LU) is a school dedicated to the science of love, relationships, and dating.

Through online lectures, LU offers Dating Coaching, Love Coaching, Relationship Coaching, and Sexpert Coaching training programs

Apart from these accreditations, if you choose to also offer writing services such as writing online bios, etc., to your clients, you might need to also brush up on your writing skills.

It is also advisable to get some sort of certificate or prior coursework which recognizes your writing expertise in this particular area.

The LU courses can range anywhere between USD 1500- USD 2500, but can be paid in installments as well.

Salary of a Dating Coach

Being a Dating Coach is not all sunshine and a bed of roses. When you first start teaching you might just have to do it for free.

You do it not just for the love and passion of coaching, but also to gain experience in teaching others. This will help you improve yourself exponentially and give you the confidence to take up more clients and charge them appropriately.

After you have established your coaching style and coaching programs, you can start by asking for a minimal $50 a day. Keep at it, and – eventually – you can charge $1000 for the entire session!

That is a very reasonable price for a skill that they will have for the rest of their life.

According to the Entrepreneur website, some professional Dating Coaches charge rates from $100 hourly to $10,000 or more for entire long-term programs.

The Business Insider website says one well-known New York Dating Coach charges from $3,000 to $4,000 for a spot at one of his seminars.

Another New York professional men’s Dating Coach charges $8,000 for a six-week program and works with 20 clients yearly.

With 20 clients paying $8,000 for Dating Coach services, a dating consultant might earn $160,000 annually!

For example, as of 2011, one professional dating consultant charged an average hourly rate of $150, and up to $3,000 for a six-month program.

Another popular Los Angeles-based dating consultant charges $300 hourly, and up to $13,000 for long-term consultancy work.

Hundreds of professional Dating Coach businesses operate nationwide in a field where entrepreneurial abilities and satisfied clients dictate your earnings.

The glassdoors jobs website lists salaries for men’s dating consultants running from $30,000 to $110,000-plus.

As your reputation grows, so do your earnings. You can eventually understand the value you bring to the table and charge people accordingly.

Remember – they are not only paying for wisdom and results, but also for your brand. Delivery of results – ensuring that you have authentic success stories to share and inspire people with – is most important.

How to Start a Dating Coaching Business

Now that we looked at how to get certified to become a dating coach, let’s take a closer look at how to set up a dating coaching business. In this chapter, I will go through all the steps needed to get started with your dating coaching business.

But before we dive deeper into setting up a coaching business, we need to understand how to choose the niche that you want to serve as a dating coach.

  • Choosing your Preferred Type of Dating Coaching

Most of the genuine Dating Coaches will fall in one of the four large categories I mentioned here

How do you then choose a category to stick to?

My suggestion is to ask yourself some genuine questions like – do I want to focus on the technical aspects of being an online guru, such as developing profiles and staying up to date on all of the apps that people use?

Or do I want to take it a step further with my customers, and help them understand more about themselves, their dating baggage and triggers, as well as how to date and select a fantastic partner?

Or would I rather concentrate on those who are already married and trying to figure out what to do next?

Or a blend of the two?

Consider assisting someone in this field, and gain clarity on these questions:

  • What specifically are you assisting them with?
  • What are their ages?
  • What demographic?

There’s no wrong answer.

Take a few moments to jot down your preferences as it will dictate which type of Dating Coaching you like.

Then spend some time researching which kind of niche you want to serve. Pick something which is unique, yet big enough and excites you.

  • Getting Started As a Dating Coach

Once you’ve determined the type and niche of your coaching, you’ll need to start a business.

Choose a name for your company and set it up by obtaining all of the necessary legal documents, such as business licenses, federal ID numbers, and so on. Set up your bank account, bookkeeping, and website.

I suggest not spending too much time and money on the website in the initial days.

Create a basic landing page with all the necessary details such as your contact details, the niche you serve, your qualifications and credentials, etc. This is because, initially, people will only search for you online to gain some sort of credibility.

As you grow, your website can evolve, too.

How to Flourish As a Dating Coach

The coaching industry is highly competitive. If you want to leave your mark then you will have to build a lasting connection with your existing customers. Promoting yourself as a coach is also essential to broaden your client-base.

HOW TO FLOURISH AS A DATING COACH
HOW TO FLOURISH AS A DATING COACH

  1. Word-of-mouth Marketing and Advertising

When you’re first starting out, look out for free advertising opportunities. The best free resource can be tapping into your already existing network of friends who need dating coach advice or for signing up for a dating coach registry.

Plus – to get started, you only need one client.

Be open to giving your services for free to a friend or acquaintance, with a promise in return that they will write you an honest and glowing review.

Remember – testimonials and referrals are what will enhance your standing. Make sure to use testimonials on your social media pages and website. Also, you’ll start getting more references once you’ve had your first few satisfied clients.

  1. High-value Interactions with Customers

Your success – but more importantly – your clients’ success, depends on how you coach and engage with them.

It’s possible that you’ll need to ease clients into diverse views so they can see themselves through the eyes of others. You don’t want to change someone’s personality.

Instead, you must highlight their positive qualities.

Remember these two main things:

  • It’s possible that you’ll be asked for beauty tips.
  • You may have to offer grooming advice.

Be candid, yet nice, while giving feedback about your client’s appearance.

Another trick you can use to add value to your sessions is roleplaying. You can roleplay with your clients to point out key aspects, or shortcomings, that they may not be aware of.

Things that they may need to adjust or change in order for them to be more likable.

Also – at first, you’ll probably have to help your client grow in ways that are uncomfortable for them. But keep being humble and genuine with your coaching ways to make them more comfortable as time passes.

Your duty, like any other coach, is to encourage, assist, and bring out the best qualities in your clients.

You must empower them by allowing them to have fun and be themselves.

After you’ve completed all of these steps, your client is ready to embark on their dating adventures!

How to Set Up an Online or “Hybrid” Dating Coaching Business

Now that you know all the major things needed to start your Dating Coaching business, I want to add one of the most important aspects of becoming a Dating Coach– how to set up an online or hybrid Dating Coaching business.

HOW TO SET UP AN ONLINE/HYBRID DATING COACHING BUSINESS
HOW TO SET UP AN ONLINE/HYBRID DATING COACHING BUSINESS

Step 1: Create a brand

Your brand is what your company stands for, as well as how your business is perceived by the public. A strong brand will help your business stand out from competitors. Take good time to come up with a name for your services as well as a logo and what that logo represents. Create a good story around your brand because your brand stories is what other people will relate to.

Step 2: Promote your online brand and business

The best way to let people know you and that you get results is to brag about your statistics. Even if you’re just starting off, let people know your personal numbers. If you had 70% of potential partners to respond to your first email, then that’s a truly incredible stat that others will want to know about. If you’ve successfully played matchmaker in the past, talk about how many of the couples are still together. Start conversations with people on a social media page by asking specific questions about the dating culture (e.g., what’s your favorite dating platform and why?).

Step 3: Ask for recommendations

The best thing a dating consultant can do is hope for recommendations from their customers. Being personal and professional will help, but dating consultants should also go the extra mile. It’s like a concierge service in that the consultant should think of what their client needs before they realize they need it.

Step 4: Create your business website

After defining your brand and creating your logo the next step is to create a website for your business.

While creating a website is an essential step, some may fear that it’s out of their reach because they don’t have any website-building experience. While this may have been a reasonable fear back in 2015, web technology has seen huge advancements in the past few years that makes the lives of small business owners much simpler.

Here are the main reasons why you shouldn’t delay building your website:

After you do all of this, you are set to successfully run your online/hybrid online dating coaching business.

Chapter 4:

Do’s and Dont’s of Dating Coach

Now that you have gained an insight about becoming a Dating Coach as covered in Chapter 3, I will walk you through the do’s and don’ts that you should be mindful of as a Dating Coach.

While most of these are fairly obvious, they are worth reiterating.

So, let’s get right into it!

Dating Coach: The Definitive Guide Dating Coach
DO’S AND DONT'S OF DATING COACH
DO’S AND DONT’S OF DATING COACH

Do help your client manage and overcome their anxious and self- limiting beliefs

This is something that ALL coaches at some point in their coaching journey with each client have to work on.

Many people who opt for coaching do so because they are unaware, or are unable to, work through self-limiting behaviors. So your part – as a coach – is to help your clients work through and move on from those beliefs.

Do Not get personally or romantically involved with your clients

This one should be fairly straightforward. If you want to maintain your reputation as a good and reliable Dating Coach from the get-go, you have to remain professional with all your clients.

There is no scenario in which it is justified to get involved in any capacity, other than professional, with your client.

Do practice objective criticism but subjective advice

Your job as a Dating Coach is to be objective while looking at the client’s shortcomings, but be subjective while helping them deal with their problems.

Objective criticism will help both you and your client to trust each other, while being personalized with giving technical advice will help each of your clients achieve their individual goals with much ease.

Do Not promise your clients that you will make someone fall in love with them

Be clear from the beginning that your job as a Dating Coach is not to ensure that someone falls in love with your client by hook or crook.

The focus of Dating Coaching should be to enhance your client’s abilities in their love life, a product of which should be meeting a potential partner.

Don’t limit your sphere of work to just focus on a lateral end goal.

Do focus on teaching your clients the best ways to present themselves

This may mean helping clients with their online profiles, photos, body language mentoring, confidence boosting, etc.

Your clients should feel on top of the world with increased self-esteem after your sessions.

Each client will have a different need and a different path to get there, but the process should be focused on making your client the best version of themself.

Do Not coach your clients during their dates

Your job, as a Dating Coach, is strictly professional and so, you are not expected to spoon feed anyone.

Your work should be limited to the sessions you have with your client.

Also, you cannot teach your client cheesy pick-up lines or manipulative tactics. Remember, your job is to make someone the best person they can be, not a “pick-up artist”.

Now that we know what to do and more importantly, what not to do, let’s focus on the next step, attracting clients! The next chapter will fully elaborate what is needed to build a robust client funnel.

Chapter 5:

Top Tips to Attract Clients

Well, if you have read through everything so far, a question that might be bugging you is, “Ok Sai, I get what you mean, and I am convinced that this can be a good career path for me. But how do I get started? How do I find clients?”

I am going to give you TWO extremely important tips to crack your way into Dating Coaching.

Both these tips are logical and simple to follow.

TIPS TO ATTRACT CLIENTS FOR DATING COACHING NICHE
TIPS TO ATTRACT CLIENTS FOR DATING COACHING NICHE

Tip 1 – Locate your clients in a proactive manner

Many of us already have a fairly big network; we just don’t know we do!

As a beginner in the Dating Coaching world, you can start off by hustling a bit. By hustling, I mean you need to try as many ways of getting your name out there as you can.

This can mean through word-of-mouth, pitching your services to your network of family and friends, reaching out to client bases in the International Coaching Federation, etc.
Your network can include your professional and personal network, as well as a 2nd or 3rd degree connection who is curious about Dating Coaching.

Tip 2 – Attract your customers

Don’t solely rely on the first step, especially in the initial stages.

The way this strategy works is to first brainstorm what niche you are serving, and which online platform the people in that niche are most likely to use frequently.

Facebook? LinkedIn? Instagram? YouTube? Podcasts? Reddit? TikTok?

For example: Let’s assume your niche is socially awkward guys in mid to late twenties, then your online platform could be Instagram.

With reels trending in 2022, you can create a catchy reel conveying something along the lines of  “Hey! I’m a Dating Coach and I’m trying to see if I can build a business around it. If you are (include a description of your ideal client) I would really appreciate it if you could give a bit of your time for some market research. In return, I’m happy to give you a short, free coaching session where I’ll help you identify the top 3 reasons you feel socially awkward.”

I am certain at least a few people will say “Yes!” to this proposition because everyone usually loves free stuff.

You can then introduce the Taster Technique, where you give the potential client a free “Demo” session of 30 minutes or so (like a taster sample of a meal) and at the end of this session, you ask this person “What did you think of this session? I would be delighted to work with you in a paid capacity to help you find the love of your life. Do you think you’d be interested?”

At least one of those people is bound to say yes to you, mostly even more than one!

Slowly, you can start building your client bank like this!

You can also share your expertise through reels, posts, short videos, blogs, etc so that people keep seeing your name often on multiple social media platforms.
The more they see you, and the more success stories you put out there, the more people will want to work with you.

It takes a bit of hard work initially, but the payoff is grand and well-earned!

Chapter 6:

Limitations of a Dating Coach

As with any other type of coaching, even Dating Coaching has its own limitations which you should be aware of.

Let’s look at some of the most common limitations of Dating Coaching.

Commitment of Time

When you establish a Dating Coaching business, you have complete control over your responsibilities and decisions.

This can sometimes lead to work life taking over, which is not necessarily a bad thing. However, it can put a strain on friendships and family time, as well as add to the stress of starting a new company.

Niche Business Landscape

A niche business isn’t always a bad thing; in fact, it could be your ticket to success.

Finding the ideal niche market and target audience, on the other hand, might be more difficult and time-intensive.

Stressful Work Climate

Both you and your clients may find this line of business to be difficult.

Because this is a huge financial choice for your customer, you should have high expectations.

This career path can be quite rewarding, but it also has its share of hurdles and stressful periods.

A Longer Sales Cycle

Because a Dating Coaching business can be a significant time and financial investment for your consumers, it’s critical that you plan and forecast a longer conversion funnel.

You should also plan ways to stay in touch with your potential sales funnel.

Impatient Customers

You may provide a fun user experience for your customers, but they may have high expectations and may become frustrated if they aren’t satisfied with your product or service.

Earning Passive Money can be Tricky

Making passive revenue in this business can be more difficult. The quantity of money you can make is frequently restricted by the amount of time you have in the day.

Being aware of these shortcomings of the business can help you ideate and plan solutions for this well in advance, so that you are not blindsided by an outcome.

We looked at how to attract customers, now let me guide you through some real life success stories of some of the most successful dating coaches. The next chapter will focus on some amazing case studies of highly successful dating coaches.

How is your coaching different from others?

My company takes pride in working with people of all cultural backgrounds with different sexual orientations, and different needs.

Every advice that I give to my clients is ethical, moral, and unique to their situations. It is also advice that I would follow, myself.

What is your niche or specialization?

My company and I work with clients of all walks of life: we really believe that by creating transparency and openness in the realm of dating, we can do so much to help create empathy between people.

Whilst these days we find ourselves coaching clients a lot with messaging, and creating kickass online dating profiles; our first love has always been teaching people to meet one another in real life.

Our signature women’s dating Bootcamp, for example, is a real table-turner, encouraging women to take a proactive stance on dating and has been featured in Grazia, ELLE, and Cosmopolitan magazine.

Which locations do you serve?

At the moment, our live coaching is focused on the UK, particularly London, but we do offer remote coaching to clients all over the world.

It’s a privilege to be able to speak to people in North America, India, Scandinavia, and beyond all on the same day!

What, according to you, has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

I believe my ability to connect and empathize with people rather easily has been a great help in building my career.

My TED talk has definitely helped. To this day, after over 2 million views, I still get emails from people who found it useful and eye-opening.

I think being able to build on my own experiences and having worked in an honesty-driven environment, with both men and women, have brought me and my company to the position we are in now.

We really believe that with great ethics and a commitment to our coaching, that you can learn to love dating and create real change.

Kate Mansfield

Kate Mansfield has been coaching men and women in the dating and relationship space for 15 years. Thinking that she had found her soulmate, Kate’s world came crashing down in 2015 when the relationship she was in fell apart, and she became homeless and found herself a single mum, as a result.

Kate took some time off to heal, and to date, and find love again and then relaunched her business online in 2018.

She hit 6-figures within 6 months of launching, and has since helped over 500 single men and women to find and keep their dream relationship.

How is your coaching different from others?

Quite simply, I have a system that gets results; it combines deep psychological shifts with spiritual work and a practical framework that ensures clarity and high-value dating behaviors for her clients.

My USP is mixed coaching calls with single men and women together, to learn from each other. My coaching is focused on authenticity, effective communication, and deep self-love, as opposed to dating strategies that only skim the surface.

What is your niche or specialization?

My niche is strong, independent, successful, high-achieving women who tend to choose the wrong men and date down, or can’t receive from men because they have controlling and masculine tendencies.

I also now have an accredited coaching school offering training to learn how to become a 6-figure online coach.

Which locations do you serve?

I serve online internationally.

What, according to you, has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

Having gone through the challenges myself firsthand, understanding that lack of self-love is the key wound that stops women from getting the love that they deserve, so helping to get real results for my clients has been the number one factor in my success.

Another factor is being a risk-taker and having enormous drive as a business owner to keep pushing forward, even in the face of adversity.

Dating Coach: The Definitive Guide Dating Coach

How is your coaching different from others?

As the first male Dating Coach to cater his services to women, I’ve had 17 years and thousands of hours of coaching to develop a program (Love U) that is comprehensive, high-touch and gets results.

I honestly don’t know what other Dating Coaches say, but I’d like to think my approach is grounded in truth and what is effective.

Women don’t turn to me for the illusion of help; they reach out because they don’t trust their judgment and want to know what to do differently to attract a quality, relationship-oriented man.

What is your niche or specialization?

Dating and Relationship Coach for smart, strong, successful women who have everything but the guy.

Which locations do you serve?

I’ve had clients in India, Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Israel and all over Europe. If you’re a single woman who speaks English, I can help you find love.

What, according to you, has been the single most important thing that has contributed to your success as a coach?

Honesty about my experience.

When you can tell the truth about yourself and tell the truth about what men are thinking, you’re going to be able to offer something unique and valuable to your clients.
