Lucy Seligman
I’m here to re-introduce you to the joy that life has to offer and to help you move forward with a healthier mind, body, and spirit. When living in Japan in my 20s, I suddenly found myself with a paralyzing fear of flying. Given that my family was in the US, I knew I had to take action. I met with a hypnotherapist and after one week, the fear had subsided and I was able to fly again.
Little did I know this would be a fixed point of time in my life as I would eventually circle back to become a certified hypnotherapist myself.

Maggie Quinn
Coaching is about looking at where you are presently and where you would like to go in the future. Coaches focus on the future with the strategy of positive psychology. While we may use therapy tools, our intention is always to mirror a mindset shift with an external goal in the world. It’s not just about healing; it’s about positively creating.
Some clients know exactly where they want to land and others lack a clear vision or the idea of a new vision is overwhelming. Maybe you have some general ideas on what you want—to start a business, to help people, to be more authentic, but you need more clarity on how to get there. We will outline a vision and set goals and specific action to get to where you want to go.
Sue Kaplan
I grew up in the Eastern Cape, in Gqerberha, formerly known as Port Elizabeth, a place of great disparities in the 50s and 60s. I unleashed myself onto Cape Town in the 70s. Later, I found myself in the evocative, inimitable Johannesburg of the 1980s. After many rites of passage and a number of years of studying, working and travelling, I am back in the Cape at the edge of the world.
There are multiple narratives in my life; I wear different hats as a teacher, artist and Zen Coach, creating a palimpsest of heroes and villains, with the wind and sea also jostling for centre stage. Sometimes, therapeutically, I garden or walk my dog; other times, I paint or just curate the furniture in my house.
Kåre Landfald
Zen Coaching was founded in 2005 by Kåre Landfald from Norway. He was inspired by, among others, Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, A.H. Almaas, Marshall B Rosenberg, Osho and modern coaching approaches. Kåre has degrees in Philosophy, Management and Information Systems, and has previously worked internationally for the UN and for the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The students in workshops and trainings also contributed significantly to the evolution of the approach.
